Burna Boy Awarded By O2 Academy, Brixton For His Sold Out Show

Just days after Davido, Wizkid, and Diddi Emma dominated the recently ended AFRIMMA Awards, yet another Nigerian is on the scene for his epic talent. The eccentric-voiced Burna Boy is now the talk of West Africa. This is after he was awarded a rather coveted accolade because of his UK Sold Out show. The Sekkle Down crooner becomes yet another of Nigeria’s best artists who have received international recognition beyond Africa. The massive success of Burna Boy’s Outside album can be attributed to his ability to work with highly regarded musicians and producers. Some of Burna Boy’s 2018 collabos that made it to the top of Africa’s music chart are All My Life featuring Major Lazer and For Me Featuring Wiz Kid.

One particular track that has given the artist international recognition is YE. The track appeared just next to Kanye West’s YE Album on search engines. This is probably the reason it has received a lot of hits.  His award came about earlier this week when he was performing YE on his tour to the UK at the O2 Academy. A video of his performance in his stop at O2 Academy went viral.

His fascinated fans sang Damini’s new song from the beginning to the end without any complications whatsoever. And Guess what, Burna Boy did not sing even a single stanza in the track. Everything was just about the fans. It’s even a wonder how and when the fans learned the song since YE is fairly a new song. Actually, it’s video was released about 2 months ago. In the viral video, clearly, the fans were fascinated by Burna’s work.

On 7th October (Sunday) Burna Boy became the first Nigerian artist to sell out a show in the history the Brixton based O2 Academy. This clearly demonstrates that Damini is the real king of Afrofusion and Afrobeat. After the event, the artist took to his Instagram Handle to express his gratitude to his fans. Additionally, he flaunted his newly achieved medal.
