Prezzo Gives Back to the community in Kibera Slums, Neutralizing Jaguar

Just as speculations build up that Kenyan rapper Prezzo might be venturing into politics, the singer has since taken up a rather noble project for the residents of Kibera Slums.  His long enmity with Kipepeo crooner Jaguar who is also the Member of Parliament in Nairobi’s Starehe constituency might have triggered Prezzo’s newly found interest.  Just about a month ago Jackson Ngechu Makini aka (Urezzo) met up with Raila Odinga in his Capitol Hill office.

The two may have discussed Makini’s project which aims to revamp some houses in Kibera slums. Kibera is Raila’s stronghold and probably it was wiser for the rapper to consult with the’ fallen’ aspiring presidential candidate. Many termed Prezzo’s meeting with ‘Baba’ as one to do with politics, probably a scheme to get the rapper into politics. However, this is not clear for now.

After Charles Njagua joined politics in 2017 the two singers buried the hatchet and released a song tagged Timika. However, some of the sentiments shared on social media suggest that Prezzo might want a hand in politics. His Kibera project might just be a way to neutralize his old rival’s popularity in politics. Nonetheless, Kenyans should focus only on the positive side. Kenya is endowed with a number of generous artists like Makini, King Kaka and the rest. Whenever any celebrity decides to give back to the society let’s simply appreciate it.

Jackson was accompanied Steve Oh who also happens to be the CEO of Kompakt Records. In the said project, the two stars were to renovate 16 mud houses to look like concrete homes. Prezzo urged other musicians and celebrities to do the same.
