2020 opens up on a high note for Zlatan Ibile as he unearths his new recording label dubbed ZANKU records. The Lagos-born artist decided to name his new recording company after his most successful song Zanku.
The afrobeat singer released the song and named an album and a new dancing style after the same track. The meaning for ZANKU in full is Zlatan Abeg No Kills Us. The title has since become synonymous with the singer.
The singer made his announcement on starting Zanku Records via his social media pages. In the now trending post, he attached the artwork that will now be the trademark for his new label.
This development comes shortly after yet another artist in the same region, Naira Marley unveiled his own label Marlian Music. Naira Marley has now signed new artists to join Marlian Music. Zanku Record, however, has no artists signed to it up until now.
Here’s a short history of Zlatan Ibile with recording Labels
A while back in 2018, it had been rumored that Omoniyi Temidayo, aka Z Ibile, had joined Davido’s DMW recording label. The release of a collaborative project titled Osanle between the two artists further sparked confusion in Africa’s music fraternity.
Nevertheless, the “My Body” hitmaker confirmed that he had no intention of joining DMW. The promising singer denied claims that he was a signee of Davido Music Worldwide.
In an exclusive interview with GoldmyneTV, Zlatan disclosed that his relationship with Adeleke was out of pure love and not in any way a business dealing.
In the past, Zlatan has been working under a couple of recording labels among them, Dieffe under license to Pirames International Srl. His last tenure was at Alleluyah Boiz Ent which he has now dumped to build his own label, Zanku Music.
